As the title says. Poll is up, what's your favorite forum software, and why?
Hmm it's a real tough choice honestly. I was never an administrator of a vB board, so I rule that out. IPB is great, fantastic, however I didn't find it useful to what i needed.
phpBB isn't my thing, myBB is my favorite of all.
I say vBulletin because of the security.
No question VB if you take away cost.
If you simply compare all forums then i feel VB easily wins.
The cost is the real issue.
I went for VB, my friends owns one and it seems great.

vB isn't all that secure, there was a rather large exploit in 3.8 awhile back.
Yeah there was one exploit a while ago but it wasn't major and it was fixed right away.
MyBB is overtaking SMF and PhpBB in imho. However VB still leads, but like DAMINK said it's the cost issue.
Nothing beats IPB. MyBB is byfar the best free solution though.
I'm curious as to how xF will turn out, though.
I have to say from the time I've used free IPB hosting for testing I've liked it allot. Good for experienced administrators.
