I personally like PHPbb they have great community , security issues are with every software is used by most webmasters so hackers try to find exploit in phpbb more than other softwares
I started out with PhpBB, but I'm starting to like MyBB a bit better for the user friendly way of adding things to it. For PhpBB you have to edit the code and install PhPBB Mods, and I got tired of that after a while. MyBB seems less exploitable as well, because PhpBB has become so popular
My bb all the way Big Grin
Ive been an loyal customer of IPB, however this new forum called xeoforo something, it got my eyes! i might consider that!
MyBB is my favorite, mainly because of the mods, the design, etc. Why would you need a paid forum software anyways?

Paid forum software? :S MyBB isn't the only free one on the list...
I like MyBB, lots of plugins, themes, customization, and its free.
I have had forums with all vB, IPB, and myBB, I've never used phpBB though.

I'd go with myBB, simply because it's much simpler to do everything.
To be honest, I think MyBB is the best. It's easy, simple, and just great overall.
I'm pretty impressed by Invision BB.

You wouldn't realize you liked it until you actually use it, everyone is just so used to mybb because of HF and stuff that they think they love it.
