Put it in DFU mode (when you turned on the ipod touch, hold the power button on top for about 15 seconds, it'll ask you to slide to switch it off). Now connect your PC to your iPod Touch, if it doesn't show up there is something wrong. Try reinstalling iTunes, or a lower version of iTunes.
