I know a guy who is an executive at a programming company and all their programmers are from India and are payed almost peanuts. Start your own company and make awesome programs, and you should be fine.

During my senior year of college I was applying everywhere in the off chance I decided not to go to Graduate School, and most of the jobs I was eligible for (keep in mind these are entry level positions) started over 55k/yr and many had other great perks, e.g., life insurance. Obtaining a major in CS yields great advantages because the field will only grow; computer related jobs are expected to grow by nearly 20% by 2018.
