How to format a USB / external harddrive.

You can also just launch Command Prompt and do format E: for example.

heck to format a external drive just right click it and click format Tongue.....on windows anyways

For linux you can use GEDIT for gnome or fdisk. I personally like fdisk as I tend to stay away from GUI's. Big Grin

I used fdisk when installing Backtrack 3 to harddrive. Also used qtparted and gparted.

Well if you use U3 drives and format it using windows then it will not launch U3 unless it restores it self.
