I also would have to hate to minimize everything just to get to the desktop. Fortunately, I could just alt+space ~ 'de' ~ enter to get to the desktop ^^

Free tip - Windows key + D takes you to your desktop.
Personally I don't see any use for Launchy, as I mainly use about ten programs or so and having them all in my start menu pin is no problem for fast access, whilst my desktop is completely clean.
