You can use emulators to play pokemon on your pc.

Black is amazing.
I still kinda want the real English rom, but I'll keep looking.

This is what I was talking about when I said Prof. Oak couldn't determine the player's gender, even though you're right there with him.

The DSi should use its camera to identify if the player is a boy or a girl, but it would probably make a lot of mistakes and people would get angry. Ninja
