Just buy an iPod Touch 4g. The newest one is awesome, and it is basically an iPhone, without the Phone app. Buy that, you will not regret it.

I generally dislike iPads.
From my experience they:
1.) Overheat.
2.) Do Not Have Many Apps Yet.
3.) Are Very Expensive.

I don't have one personally, But my friends had one and it kept giving him problems so he sold it.
