It's currently not against the rules, but it's pretty dumb in my opinion.

The quality of your posts should do it for you.

@mon3yexploit: No, it wont. Only if you randomely PM people or post "+ rep me please!" for no reasons.

But if you post something useful, saying 'rep appreciated' you wont get flamed by that.

Abuse occurs and so will rules. So you decide if you think it's worth abusing and ruining it for others.
