Dead Sperm Whale Beached (Washed Up) - Skegness, Lincolnshire, England
#1
This is the second time a dead whale has washed up on our beach. I went to see the first one but didn't with this one, although my mum did and got a few pictures of it. Apparently it was killed by hitting a boats rotor.

PICS:

Sad times, an ugly, yet magnificent creature.

Oh my lord, that's horrible. Your beach must be full of rotting carcases by now, that must be pretty sad.

Everything appears to be washing up near you, as sad as this is I envy the fact you have seen one of these magnificent creatures up close. Just such a shame it was dead. :/

You can go on a boat and travel farther from land and you'll see them; the smell and general rotting would ruin the experience for anyone who's near it up close.

I didn't go to see this one, it got buried by the time I heard of it. My mum didn't even tell me. -_-

I saw a whale though, wasn't a Sperm Whale mind.

Ah well then your mother was quite lucky, obviously as I said before it's a shame it was dead but I would have loved to have seen this. I've seen a killer whale but they're not really that impressive imo.

By chance, have any other dead animals started drifting towards your beach before? I wouldn't want to live in an area where that's common.

No it's no where near common, it's only happened once before in my lifetime. Check the above link.

I wonder what happened to the whale that killed it.

Whales don't kill each-other. If you actually read the thread you'll find that it was killed by a boat propeller.
