The BSOD wasn't the problem I was trying to fix, it was just a detail in the events surrounding my internet loss. You're an MVP, can't you figure it out? Can I speak to your manager?

The misconception here is that MVP's are assigned their title based on a category in Windows-based knowledge that they are known as professionals for, unfortunately networking wasn't it for me. Did you check your Device Manager? And also perhaps the Event Viewer? What error codes show up?

Also in solving the BSOD, your problem could have been resolved. But in this case we resolved ONE of your Windows problems, it just wasn't THE one.

I'm not good with networking, but if I had your computer, it's something that I can definitely solve if I have the computer hands on. That's just the way I am, i'm much better if I get to look at things myself. But that's not the case when dealing with problems over the internet.

Check your Device Manager for any errors though.
There are problems with the Broadcom virtual wireless adapter and the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapter. The automatic repairs didn't work.

There's your problem then, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapter is for the Virtual machine, Broadcom virtual wireless adapter is what you should be looking at.

Did you try a reboot first? If that didn't work, then reinstall that network adapter.

Device Manager > Select Adapter, then > Uninstall.

Download and reinstall it from the manufacturer's website: http://www.broadcom.com/products/

I only found one download for it and the installer required internet connection to install. Sad

Because the installer most likely installs the content from a web page, download it on another computer, and then possibly try to move the actual content over to your main one.

No, there's lots of other capable members, it's just that the tech sections have been a bit inactive lately. There is a Geek Squad, but I haven't seen any affiliated member of the group around for a while. Mostly just random posts in the other sections for some reason though.

The installation you have is term'ed "Web installer". These are created so that you don't have to download the full installer (more bytes/larger filesize) onto your computer, which essentially saves space. It's the same way for my Subscription downloads at MSDN for most things, they give you the option to download the full setup ISO, or a web installer.
