Funny HDD error
#1
Hey everyone,

well it is not a funny error as it is messing up my computer.

This is what has happened. I use my computer normally, ie like every other user here on the forum.

Yesterday it just suddenly does not want to boot, and what happened is this;

the MFT (Master File Table) allocates the free space as a bitmap.

Why on earth does this happen?

Thanking you in advance.

fixmrb is a program that can be run outside of the boot sequence? I will definitely try it. Smile

I fixed it. I ran bootsect from dvd boot program, did not work. Nor did chkdsk do the trick. So I installed a new copy of Win 7 and everything ended up in the windows.old folder. Big Grin Now I am going to buy a new computer because I hate this HDD. Big Grin
