The typical cliche of an ad can be anything, why would he need a new signature for being creative? That's what people look for in advertisements, things that stick out from the rest unless your a reputable company.

He can work on some things and modify this one, but I dont think he needs a new one.

Again, thats what you want in a banner, simplicity is sometimes the best thing in graphics. Especially for Advertisements, Business logos, etc.

It looks good, catches the eye which advertisements should do.
The only thing I would change is maybe make it a tiny bit faster but not much.

I thinks its good, like others mentioned, make the T also fade in. AND the burst "new" looks a little odd :/ Try smoothening it.

I love it but it's because I'm a noob and would have no idea even how to attempt that.

It would be quite easy to do, maybe you should learn since you got forums of your own which need adverts
Can be all done in photoshop.
