You could always get home studied. But i guess if you shy communicating is good for you. Just try not to care what people think about you. It'll help you hold a conversation. People will think your more odd if you never talk. I personally don't care what people think of me. It helps to not care.
I'm sort of the same as you. I'm actually pretty shy to, and i tried talking to people but they themselves weren't talkative so i felt stupid. I ended up skipping my classes because it started to feel weird. I got caught so my mom home studied me. And i still learn, i just learn at home on my own. I ended up joining many forums and i interact like that. You could do the same, but i wouldn't suggest it. Just be yourself.
