I don't understand what you mean by 'in your house'. It doesn't matter where you are, as long as you have an Internet connection (for Cydia).
I like Creative Labs Zen MX. I like its all of the features. Its really very customisable device. It has also user adjustable settings such as the comprehensive equaliser, bass boost, and smart volume functions. It is really very easy to navigate and the buttons on the player are simple to understand.
I think apple is good with MP3's and such.

Right now the best MP3 player has to be the iPod Touch.
It has the most features in it's category.
IMO, it looks the nicest.
The only thing I dislike about it is iTunes.
The new generation of Zune players are pretty good. So are iPod touch's and creative mp3 players.
zune i guess is the runner up of ipod
