when i had a gf, i asked her out like this "mandi, will you go out with me?"
she said yes and there that went

No, she swore, which was unusual for her though
. Though sweet semi romantic things like that work very well.
I'm not sure if I've posted in this thread before, however this is my opinion.
Do the Movies first, keep hanging out for a bit, ask her if she wants to go to the school dance.
If she says yes, it's either because she likes you or she means it in a friend kind of way.

No... why would I do that if I JUST said that those

Just don't mention the word "girlfriend" to her and you'll be fine ;)
Movies, too cheesey, why don't you do something that's totally odd? and will shock her, and something she would never think a guy would ever do. Aslong as you know this girl enough, this is a great idea. I'd invite her home for dinner with my family. Eat,chat, just have a great day with your family, make sure she actually is enjoying it. Then walk her home/drive her home, and ask her as she is at the door, and if see says yes, don't just get your tounge down her mouth, just give her a *PECK* don't rush things, because you will regret it, thats what makes realtionships fail rushing things.
