How do I get better resolution on PS CS4

I need help getting better resolution on my text when I make a wallpaper like this one.

Did you stretch the text at all? It looks like rather than just upping the size, you've manually resized it? If so, then that will be why, otherwise, go for a different font.

Like Fragma said, fonts are usually a problem. Try using different file formats as well.

Try using 4000 pixels/cm, and changing the thing to CM (obviously). I think that might be it, but not completely sure, I was just taught to always do that when making high res pictures.

You can also use Illustrator next time. I've heard that it is better to use when making wallpapers, since it uses vector graphics, unlike Photoshop. Good to see that you've solved your problem, though!

No it won't help. The font was nice looking while small form, you re-sized it and it lost some of it's quality. I am suggesting don't re-size the font. Just choose pixels. And be sure to save it like PNG format (Best quality.)
