I just open my hard drive up. The data is stored airtight so with a DBAN and that no data should be able to stay.

To the guy that posted the Mac screen shot. Isn't 35 pass a little excessive? Or a lot excessive? Even the department of defense can't trace crap after about 8-9 swipes...

If you paranoid enough to need a 35 swipe i would suggest encrypting everything, running a 7 swipe, running a magnet over it, and then take a hammer to it. jeesh.

Yeah I prefer DBAN aswell, and I use Truecrypt for everything; stall them for a few minutes and you are good to go lol
