Did the maximum character count of the title got decreased?

I have a tutorial that used a long title with 94 characters. I tried to edit the title but now I can't put it all, I need to use a title with 85 characters maximum. So I needed to completely change my title so it will fit in the 85 characters. Did it got decreased recently? Is it possible to rise that limit?

All I know is the post limit is now at 30, which is good.

If it did get decreased it was for a good purpose. There is no need for a title containing a ridiculous amount of characters.
