That actually looks okay, it's a shame abut the jagged edges, perhaps add a 2px stroke in photoshop to avoid that.

Avoid using transparency with gifs unless you have to. You should have filled in the background instead of leaving it transparent. Gif's aren't too tollerant with transparent animations especially. Unfortunately PNG doesn't have animation support . PNG is the best for transparency, with it's low file size. JPG for photos and super high quality (high file size though).
