The side effect is mutilation and for a chick thats ultimately bad.
Parents would atleast know about this if in any meaningful capacity.

Shut your mouth dude, I read the whole entire thread. I asked OP a question Not You. Most girls tend to calm down when someone tells them you Love Her, I don't mean go and say hey I love ya quit cutting yourself I mean get her to look in your eyes and tell her you Freaking Love Her with all your heart and it hurts you that she's doing this to herself. If that doesn't work then follow DAMINK's idea of a Psychologist.
