You can use FRAPS, its free.

If you have windows 7, you may use the Snipping tool, although the images aren't of great quality.
If not, you can use a program called LightShot. http://lightshot.skillbrains.com/

Use lightscreen! It is awesome, it comes out with good quality, and you can choose where to take a screenshot.

I use Camtasia recorder, or CTRL + PRNTSCRN

PRTSCR + PAINT = Awesome combination
