That is the correct mentality to have.
I doubt that you are addicted after only using it once. If you were addicted, you would know about it for sure. If you're going to take drugs, my only advice would be to always be around a friend you can trust, know your limits, & make sure you know enough about the drug you're about to take.

For example, with Ecstasy, you will find yourself needing to drink a lot of water, which is fine, but you must be aware of how much water you are actually drinking. Most deaths are not actually caused by the pill you take, but actually by drinking way to much water for your body to handle.
If you know about these things, and you know you can handle yourself whilst on the drug, then you should be fine.

Just know your limits.
