OpenBSD is the operating system that I use on my file server, and it is very stable. I'd give you the uptime, but I'm on my laptop at the moment. I've never seen much of a reason to use it as a desktop though. BSD seems more server oriented.

Yeah you're right, but i think it would be nice to have a functioning BSD desktop to play around with too.

I've always liked the BSD environment, but I don't think that I'll ever switch to a BSD operating system on my desktops or laptop.

I personally like to stick with windows thats what i do best, i like uBuntu for messing around on though
but vista or windows 7 is just so awesome, so i'll stick with those, thanks.

PC-BSD is pretty nifty. I've used it for laptops a number of times and makes a great live CD too. I'd recommed it as it's very established.
