Video Camera to PC Problem
#1
Hi,

When connecting my video camera to PC, it doesn't respond at all. I connect it through PCI firewire card but it's like nothing's happening. I tried different programs; Nero, Windows Movie Maker, WINDV.

I thought my firewire card is faulty, i bought a new card, connected it again and nothing responds on my computer, no pop up message just nothing. In device manager it shows my card as working properly.

I give up now and has nothing alternative to try, this is the only computer i have at home with a firewire card.

I was guessing there's something to do in BIOS!! probably enable something, so thats why i need your help on this.

Any one has any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Regards

Hmm, I don't think this has to do with the BIOS. That's an odd issue, so until I can actually help, I'll just post this to make a small bump. I hope that this issue gets resolved for you.

Click Start, then right click My Computer (Computer for Win 7) and select manage.
Select device manager.
If your hardware shows up there, then I don't know. But if it doesn't you can trace it back to a connection issue. Either the camera doesn't like your computer or vice versa.
I know this doesn't really help but I thought I would give you my 5 cents worth.

Well actually, what can you do with a firewire card if it's not working other than plugging and unplugging as it requires no software update. Sometimes i get an error message " Device Unplugged" when updating my card. I dont know i just give up. I had the same issue on my old computer, and im sure it's all related to software issue.

Anyway, thanks for your kind replies, and waiting for any else suggestion.
