PC Eraser

Deleting a file does not remove a file. The deleted file is still there on the hard drive waiting just waiting for someone to come

long and steal your information. The Data Drive Thru® PC Eraser™ is the fix. Select files using either drag-n-drop from the Windows

GUI or use PC Eraser's™ File Selector. Click on destroy, and let PC Eraser make your files disappear using Department

The Data Drive Thru PC Eraser™ is a software product that securely removes files from a hard drive. Most people do not know that

files that have been deleted can easily be retrieved by using any number of recovery utilities found on the internet. This means
that a file that has only been deleted is easy prey for identity theives. Credit card numbers, banking information, loan

information, and social security numbers and other sensitive personal information you may have deleted from a hard drive are all at
risk of being retrieved and exploited by identity theives. But if PC Eraser™ is used instead of delete file recovery becomes a

difficult and costly process, thereby thwarting anyone trying to steal your personal information.

PC Eraser works in three stages.

1) The user generates "Protection Lists" of files, folders and extensions that are NOT to be removed from the PC creating a level of

protection to guard against accidental deletion of files.

2) The user creates an "Erasure List" of files and folders that are to be removed from the PC.

3) PC Eraser then compares the "Erasure List" to the "Protection Lists." Any files that are found on the "Protection Lists" are

skipped during the erasure process and are NOT removed from the PC. Any files on the "Erasure List" that are not on the "Protection
Lists" are removed from the PC.

Over the lifetime of a file, the file will temporarily reside in various areas of a hard drive. As the file moves around the hard

drive traces of the file are left in areas of the hard drive that are not tracked by Windows. PC Eraser contains an option to

remove these traces called Scrub Free Space. Scrub Free Space removes these traces by applying a process similar to the file

erasure process. Scrub Free Spaces is an extensive process potentially taking hours to complete. It is therefore suggested that

the Scrub Free Space operation be executed when the user can afford to be without use of his PC for an extended period of time.
