[Solved] Can't Install Flash
#1
Ok so I just installed Ubuntu in VirtualBox and I am trying to get flash. I went to the Ubuntu Software Centre, found the flash plugin, tried to download it but at 3% it gives me an error. "Package operation failed. The installation or removal of a software package failed. E:I wasn't able to locate file for the adobe-flashplugin package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package.:"

I also tried to install flash from adobe's website but it also gives me an error "Could not open 'install_flash_player_10_linux.deb' The package maybe corrupted or you are not allowed to open the file. Check the permissions of the file." I did... I check read and write although I am already the admin.

Why is it not allowing me to install Flashplayer?

SOLVED

I just re-installed it

Have you tried doing the system updates for it? Maybe there was a bug fix or something?

Why is it not allowing me to install Flashplayer?

You could try and download the one at the Flash web site(I use the 64 bit version)

http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html

If you use this method then extract the archive file into /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/ folder

I think I have identfied the problem. The adobe-flashplugin package is corrupted, i'm trying to remove it with computer janitor and package manager and even just manually deleting it, but it won't allow me to remove it!

Maybe it's in use? Can you kill the process?
