Amature java programmers paid thousands

Where I work there is certain database programs we use coded in java and they are rubbish! There is so many glitches and things it is so amature I can't belive they got paid so much to create the programs. Do companies really put up with that or is it just where I work?

Might just be where you work, because people that pay for the programs are most likely not programmers that would realize this kind of thing
 I'm a programmer for RTI, and some of the guys here are developing their own drivers in Java... |
