live cd problem , memtest86 fails , help me out guys !!!

im having problem running the live cd's , i've tested using puppy linux , crunchbang , kubuntu , slitaz , none of the cd's boot after pressing enter in the boot console.

i tried everything, burning slow, turning off apic etc.

all the cd's work fine in other systems , so i guess my system's at fault.

so i tried running memtest86 from the crunchbang live cd,

it failed at Test 4 and shows some failure address etc. other readings along with 614 MB

i hav 512MB+256MB RAM, its a Pentium 4 system.

please help me out , i gotta install linux !!!

Try backtrack, or ubuntu and tell me if you still have the problem...
