What firmware does iPhone 2G have?
#1
What firmware did iPhone 2G originally come with when it was released fresh out of its box? Does anybody know? I think its 2.0+ firmware but I am not sure. Thanks! My model number is A1203.

Any help would be nice!

When I first Bought my 2G, it came with 1.0. The maximum it can Support is 3.1.3. Newer releases might have come with higher than 1.0 though.

Think the max it can run is 3.x. When you get to 4.0- that's when you start running into trouble.

No, after a certain point in a products lifespan Apple discontinues software updates. I'm sure the original iPhone could support iOS 4 but they do it so people will have to buy the new products if they want the new software.

Back on the topic, the original iPhone launched with 1.0, what else? I remember 1.0, I didn't have an iPhone then but I got an iPod Touch for christmas. There wasn't even an app store, they added it in 2.0. There was no home screen wallpapers, spotlight search, and so many other small features that are in 4.0.

Life's a beach and I'm just playin' in the sand.
