His image isn't broken, he just pasted the url incorrectly.

He used this:

There's no link to the image file itself with a .png/.jpg/.gif/etc... location

It should have been

Hi,

There is a tool available named conky-manager (Ubuntu) , there are lots of good themes present in it by default.
