Hey everyone.
Today I will be making a tutioral on how you change the license name on any version of Windows.
I will be using Windows 2000 version in a Virtual Machine.
Why to change it?
Well, suppose your name is John Williams. You buy a computer and the employee asks you in which name the computer should be written, you say John Williams, but instead he types John Smith!
You might also want to change it for fun!
Let's start!
To see in which name your OS Go to Start-->Run--> and type winver
In 7 and Vista just search winver and press enter.
This should come up[blacked my name for privacy reasons]

Go to Start-->Run and type regedit.

Vista and 7: Start--> and search regedit.
Step 2
Using the folders, navigate into this path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Then Right-Click the string value RegisteredOwner and select Modify

Step 3
A box should pop-up. Change the Value data to the desired name you want and then press OK.

You are done! Now enjoy your new OS License name.To see if it worked, follow the winver step.You can change it back to the original also.
