I would get intel for a high end PC and a AMD for a budget PC.

AMD is better than Intel in some cases, it has nothing to do with price or budgeting, it just depends on what you want your computer to do for you.

For pure power and performance Intel's top CPU's will absolutely wipe out AMD. Fact Big Grin
Intel i7 is the way to go if you can afford it though.

True Intel's top processor is above AMD, but it still comes down to what you use your PC for. If you don't use it for gaming, why buy the $1000 processor for your computer. For a high end PC, it can be a high end PC without a top processor. There's lots of other parts in your computer that make it what it is, when you analyse it for it's performance, and practicality.

Sure i'd love to have an amazing Intel, but my AMD Phenom Quad core works perfect for me and what I do on my computer. 3D wire modelling, programming, gaming. It's decent i'll say.

I have intel i5 Core in this laptop, and i think its way better that AMD 3-core that i got in my desktop pc Smile


So i would say intel!

This is an amazingly detailed guide and cleared a lot up, thanks!
At the moment I have a Turion running in my laptop, and 2 servers running Intel processors, and I must say, Intel seems to have a much longer life than AMD.
