Motivation to do well in school

It's not the best way to motivate you do do well in school,but they are doing what is best for you and they want to see you become successful and that happens to be their way of making you motivate yourself. Yes there are better ways and the way they are using isn't the most practical method but it seems to work I'm guessing. Don't let it get to you that much,use it as a motivator if you think your slacking off and you want to do better for yourself.

Think of it this way, would you rather them push you towards school, money, success or drugs, failure, prison. There doing fine if you ask me.

That's a harsh choice for parents to make.
Honestly, I'm not sure what I'd tell my kids if I were a parent.
I'd make them finish school, that's for sure, but I don't know how I'd go about doing so.
