A good idea for those with a lower budget. His budget is around $2000, so I don't think any of the parts he would want would be close in performance to those provided in the article.

Try this out:

Processor: AMD phenom II X6 1055T, 2.8Ghz
Main board: Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H, AMD 890GX
RAM: 2x2 GB Strontium DDR3-1333Mhz
HDD: WD caviar black 1TB
Video card: Sapphire HD 6850 - 1gb
Monitor: Benq V2200 ECO
Keyboard: anything that suits your need.. Eg. with better palm rest etc..
Mouse: Razer deathadder.
Speaker: Logitech z-5500
Sound Card: Asus Xonar DX 7.1-channel
PC case: CM elite 430 (and this too, choose which pc case pleases you)
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-550VX-550W

It's a bad idea to buy a six-core for gaming, considering the fact that you will be only using two cores the majority of the time.

Why go with only 4GB of DDR3-1333Mhz RAM? With his budget, I would at least go with 6GB at speeds of 1600Mhz.

The 6850 is very underpowered compared to the six-core and will definitely be the bottleneck.

A power supply of only 550w will barely run his computer. Very dangerous.
