Ok, he's a dumb fudge. I need to teach him trigonomertry & the pythagoras theorem, any good ideas on how to explain it to him?
My cousiins starting year 7, HELP.

Personally I think the Wikipedia entry is a good introduction because it not only explains concepts, but also has a discussion on the uses of the theorem.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagorean_theorem If he cultivates a facility to enjoy mathematical logic, trigonometry can be quite fun, like a game.
Does he have at least background knowledge in geometry? Knowing some theorems and postulates can help in understanding trigonometry.

Year 7 with the Pythagorean theorem? That's odd. I would suggest the basics first. It's all about building your way up. Make sure he knows where the hypotenuse is first. After that, tell him A^2 + b^2 = C^2 and that C= hypotenuse. A and B are just the other 2 lengths.
