Display errors on an ancient mac ibook g3
#1
Hello to all. I have some questions regarding an ibook. One day this week, I powered it down in the evening and when I turned it on the next day, the colors were very screwed up. For instance, the start up screen is a strange shade of purple and the apple logo is a different color grey. Ever the box to type this text is a purple. I played with the settings in the color scheme to get it somewhat usable, but it's still very distracting. I went to the apple support forums there were people that mentioned it could be the cables and to unplug them and plug them back in. I have tried that but it made no difference. Someone also mentioned that it could be a pinched cable in the hinge, but I don't see how that could be because I rarely ever shut it. I inspected the cable and all seemed fine. I didn't have an adapter to try a continuity test however. Any other ideas? I still have a few weeks to go before I get my new laptop and it's going to be hell with this color scheme...
