Visual stdio [c]

i have always used scanf but now just recently dont know maybe it was updated or something it gives a warning whenever i use scanf() and it instead asks me to write scanf_s() well what is the reason of this and it says to stop seting it i need to disable deprecation.
What is it and why is it.
Any one having any thoughts about it and wanting to share??
