Protection of images

I am trying to set my forum to liek this one, where you can see the images which make up the page, but if u try to go to that directory it will redirect you.

I tried an .htaccess file but it blocked the images for everyone on every page.

Any ideas?

It's probably something to do with htaccess. I'm honestly not very good with it though so we'll have to wait for someone else to come along

The .htaccess file should contain the following 4 lines:

AuthType Basic
AuthName "Some Description"
AuthUserFile /[home dir full path]/[passwordfile]
Require valid-user

For example, if your domain was example.com, then the third line would read:

AuthUserFile /www/vhosts/e/example.com/allowlist

Place the file in the directory you want. Be sure to chmod the .htaccess file to at least 644.
