I have recently been dabbling with an old emachines desktop and freeNAS. Whenever I try to boot the machine with the IDE hdd plugged in, the system just hangs on the bios screen. No input from the keyboard does anything. But when I boot with the hdd unplugged, the system boots just fine. It wasn't always like this though, I think this only happened after I used freeNAS to reformat the hdd file system with zfs. Any insight as to why the computer won't boot with this hdd plugged in?
