You need to overcome the shyness about your self-worth and also realize that life isn't all about tests and grades. I've had friends who had awesome grades but had a hard time finding a good job yet others with decent grades got employed right away.
As far as your dad is concerned, I'd sit with him and explain that you're passionate about IT and that you do know your stuff, you're just having some issues at school. Maybe you might be better off going to some sort of technical school that's more hands on, it doesn't sound like your dad would have a problem with this as he just wants you to do something productive with your life - which this would be.
