My car had made a grinding noise before out of nowhere. (Wasn't as bad as this though)
Anyways, what I did was just put it into first, second, reverse. Just put it through most of the gears.
Solved my problem.
If that does not work, I would take it to a stealership. Have them diagnose the problem. It's usually about $100 for a diagnosis.
If the fix is very expensive, then take it to a different car mechanic (non-dealership) and they will fix it for cheaper that is for sure.
