PC Headset Help - Nemmyy - 06-19-2010

I just started using a wireless headset with ventrilo on my pc.
Does anyone know how to make only people's voices come into the headset and everything else to my speakers?

What exactly do you mean? You only want to hear people talking in it, but you do not want to hear any kinds of music that you're playing?

I only want to hear people talking through my headset (so basically I only want to hear ventilo through my heaset).
And I want to hear everything else on my computer through my normal speakers such as music, games, etc.

Unless you have two sound cards you can't so this.
However you can buy a sound card for $10, so I would advise you to do that.

Once both sound cards are installed.
You go into ventrilo config and there will be an option to choose the sound card you want ventrilo to use.
For everything else you have it deafulted to your main soundcard.

So then plug your speaker system into one card, and your headset in the other.

Can I just buy one sound card and have it work like that since my motherboard has sound onboard?

I think you are right, it will diverge the sound into two different devices.....

Yeah, you definitely need a sound card or channel mixer.
