Isn't forum's plural form fora? My father saw me browsing around here when he suddenly told me.
Not that I'm questioning Omni, or want to change the name or anything. Just curious if anyone else new this.

RE: supportfora.net? - Fragma - 01-22-2011

I'm pretty sure forums and fora are both correct.

And forums sounds better, and is more commonly known than fora is.

Fragma is indeed correct.
Some point long ago someone wanted to use forums instead of fora,so here we are now.
For all we know he based it on a flip of a coin,so in an alternate universe(*COUGH* Futrama Episode:The Professors Parabox *COUGH*) it could have come out heads and every forum would be ending with fora.

www.supportfora.net

It just looks strange...

Exactly, fora is an outdated term that next to no one would know off hand, so it just makes more sense SEO wise to use forums.

This is correct,
Yet SupportForums sounds more professional.

RE: supportfora.net? - TechieĀ© - 01-23-2011

its just words that become common with something and stick, like viruses instead of virii, hasnt fora got a connection with flowers in some way?
it sounds very familiar, and am not thinking of flora butter.
