Depends where you use it. If your laptop is overheating when you're at home I suggest a simple fan base for it. You can get them for a reasonable price.

Here are some deals at Newegg. You can get them for less than $20 but I'd shoot for a nice $30 model if you're having shutdown problems. You run the risk of frying your laptop if that's happening.

Maybe you could keep an air conditioner nearby, and not overcharge it.
@ Banned Bankhead, yes it will really happen.
Get a fan that you put your laptop on.
Buy a fan base (cooler) for it , I already have with like 3 fans, Really made a diff.
I had the same problem before. So I bought a Cooler pad this one.

I had the same problem

Just watch a few youtube videos and then try opening your laptop

I removed a ton of dust and now its fine......!!!
Try buying one of those cooling pads that distributes the heat. Mine was doing this also but I bought one of those and it stopped.
Results if you don't cool it down somehow, very unhappy, does your fan make really loud/noticeable noises?

I will need to do this since I have a fan that was purchased for about $20 and my laptop still gets really hot.
