The best workout you can do (when your not really strong yet) Is pushups and pull ups. Its the most natural way to gain muscle, and you can do it anywhere. If your serious, get a membership at your local gym. I like going at 1 am with friends when no ones their.

I am not sure how old you are, but their are plenty of local programs. I for example work out with the army every sunday.
Google for different work outs, their are several blogs and websites dedicated to personal fitness. If your very serious then you should get a personal trainer.
Try P90x it's a great program.

Some people can gain muscle easier then others, so that's a factor that will play in your goals. But there are many simple methods for you to gain strength in your desired areas. Most of them have already been listed.
