LED is a better choice because It doesn't lose picture as fast as plasmas.
I can recommend the T.V LED. It is better than the Plasma T.V. First in Plasma TV you can get the mega size but in LED TV you can get the good clarity of picture and mainly it saves your electric power! And it is best for your Gaming too.So i go with LED.
I've used both types of tvs for gaming, and I personally enjoyed the LED more.
One major thing I have noticed is that Plasmas tend to heat up much quicker and have a shorter life span, so you have to take care of them by putting them in a well ventilated area. Unlike some people in the thread I actually think Plasma are the cheapest form of TV out there due to the reasons above. LED is your best choice out of these two.

+1 for this and LED is best of all
I've always heard the LED is quicker and better, rather than plasma.

Was just having a look on google for a better understanding of the two and came across this article. I'll take some snippets about each point and display them after the link to the source.

LCD:

- Everyman HDTV
- Cost effective
- Physically lighter (Take into consideration the strength of you cupboard)
Brighter whites than plasma
- Aren't affected as much by natural light glare as opposed to plasmas

Plasma:

- Darker blacks than LCD
- Greater range of contrast
- Overall better image quality than LCD
Imo LED is the way to go, Plasma is somewhat an "Older" generation of TV. If you go with an LED you will have a much longer lifespan of the TV itself and more bang for your buck. Goodluck on your choice of Television.
I have an LED Monitor and LED TV.

The difference is that there is an LED that shows up when its on or off.
I think LEDs last longer than plasmas but never really understood a difference.
