Do you have some old CD's that are so badly scratched they don't work? You may be able to resurface them.

What you need:

*Paper towel
*Metal polish
*Scratched CD
*Tissue paper
*Toothpaste (optional)

Put a fairly large amount of metal polish on some paper towel:

Buff the side of the CD with the scratches:

When you are done buffing, leave it to dry:

Next take the tissue paper and wipe off all the excess metal polish:

When finished it should look nice and new:

You can leave it like that and try out your luck or you can put toothpaste on it and buff it up some more.
I've never used metal polish on a scratched CD before. I have used a banana peel many times, however. Same technique, and the results are great IMO.
