You do realize that Xubuntu is just Ubuntu with the XFCE WM/DE right?
If you want to get good with Xubuntu, then make sure that you stick to using bash. If you need help with a command, Google it. There are several photos floating 'round the webs that have the most common linux commands, and I'd advise that you go find one and save it.
