My avatar is within the dimensions (it's 100x72). I cannot upload it without getting the message that it is too big.

Well, Maybe because it is too big lol or crop it a bit on the sides.

It's a .gif, that would be very hard.

The reason why you can't upload is because it is too big.

Your avatar is 77.0KB whereas the limit is 50KB.
Also the dimensions are 140x100 pixels but the limit is 100x100 pixels.
